Judge Stefany A. Miley was born and raised in Austin, Texas. Judge Miley graduated from Texas A&M University in 1993 with degrees in Journalism and Marketing and was a member of the National Journalism Honor Society, Kappa Tau Alpha. Upon graduation, Judge Miley commenced law school at California Western School of Law in San Diego, California, wherein she entered into an accelerated program graduating in just two years, with Honors Distinctions. Judge Miley was also selected as Who’s Who of American Law Students. As part of her law studies, Judge Miley completed a clerkship with the Honorable Nancy C. Oesterle, Justice Court, Las Vegas Township.
Following the clerkship, Judge Miley commenced her law career in Las Vegas wherein she enjoyed diverse practice areas including civil litigation, probate and estate litigation, family law, criminal law, and juvenile law. Judge Miley is a member of the State Bar of Nevada, and the Clark County Bar Association. Additionally, Judge Miley has also been involved with numerous local charities including Junior League of Las Vegas. Through the Junior League, Judge Miley helped to raise money for numerous charities including HELP of Southern Nevada, Channel 10 Ready to Learn, and the Ronald McDonald House. Judge Miley assisted in authoring and passing the Safe Haven for Babies Legislation which gives parents a safe, additional option for unwanted children. Judge Miley has also been involved with the Jean Nidetch Women’s Center and UMC Children’s Miracle Network.
